Tyler Peterson
Dr. Tyler Peterson is a historian who is currently teaching at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He earned his bachelors degree at the University of Iowa in 2009, his masters degree at Auburn University in 2012, and his Ph.D at Texas A&M University in 2017. His teaching has taken him to positions in Texas, Colorado, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, where he has taught mainly U.S. History survey courses but also some World History survey courses and one course for upper-level undergraduates on the History of Spaceflight. He has several publications in my specialty of spaceflight history, including the book A Fire to be Lighted: The Training of American Astronauts From 1959 to the Present (Burlington, Ontario, Canada: Apogee Books, 2017), an article in the East Texas Historical Journal on astronaut Rick Husband, and a chapter in the textbook Human Spaceflight Operations: Lessons Learned From 60 Years in Space.
